Our goal is to ensure that no pet ever associates grooming with fear or stress—because grooming is not just about appearance; it’s an essential part of their health and well-being. At Schnazzy Grooming, we are committed to creating a peaceful, loving experience so that every pet not only looks their best but feels their best, too.

After graduating from Lonoke High School in 2017, I followed what I felt was a calling from God and enrolled at Imagine Paul Mitchell to pursue a career in hair and makeup. Even though I was terrified and unsure, I couldn’t ignore the gentle pull on my heart, nudging me in that direction. At the time, I had no idea just how much this journey would shape me — or where it would eventually lead.
In 2018, I graduated from Paul Mitchell and proudly passed my exams to become a licensed cosmetologist. Not long after, I was blessed with a position at an incredible salon, working under a boss who was more supportive and kind than I ever could’ve hoped for. He believed in me and gave me every opportunity to grow and succeed. I poured my heart into that job — worked my tail off — for nearly a year.
But over time, something shifted. The spark that once lit me up started to dim. I began to feel lost, chasing different roles within the beauty industry, searching for something that made me feel like I was making a difference again. And the truth was — nothing did… except for when I had a pair of clippers in my hand, giving someone a fresh cut. That feeling of purpose came rushing back, and for a while, I thought I had found my lane in men’s grooming.
But eventually, even that passion began to fade. I found myself questioning everything — feeling disconnected, unsure, and longing for something deeper. I realized I wasn’t just searching for a career. I was searching for the will God had for my life.
After the pandemic, like so many others, I found myself really taking a step back and reevaluating my life — not just what I was doing for a paycheck, but what truly brought me joy and fulfillment. I started asking myself the deeper questions: What are my gifts? What do I love? What makes me feel fulfilled?
And in the quiet of that soul-searching, God gently redirected my gaze — quite literally — to look down… and see the pets right at my feet. I had been surrounded by animals my whole life (I’ve got ten right now — yes, ten! lol), and caring for them had always come naturally. Over time, grooming became part of the routine too — mostly out of necessity, since taking them all to a professional groomer every month would’ve cost a small fortune! Without even realizing it, I had built up years of hands-on experience and knowledge. God was reminding me that I already had what I needed — I just hadn’t seen it yet.
That realization opened a brand-new door. I was hired as a pet groomer at a wonderful boarding facility that didn’t just give me a job — they invested in me. They trained me in animal behavior, taught me to recognize the unique personalities and needs of different breeds and species, and helped me grow in ways I never expected.
And something beautiful happened — my confidence blossomed. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be. Every day brought new challenges (yes, animals have plenty of opinions and tantrums too — HAHA!), but I felt passionate, capable, and truly helpful. It wasn’t just about grooming; it was about connection, care, and using my heart and hands to make a difference — even if it was one furry client at a time.
I worked at the boarding facility for nearly seven months, and while that may not seem like a long time, I’ve come to believe it was exactly the season God intended for me. Even though I loved what I was doing, I began to experience unexpected health complications that made it difficult to keep up. Eventually, I had to let go of the job — and truthfully, it was understandable. I had missed a lot of work, and they needed someone who could be fully present.
Losing that position was hard, but instead of falling into fear, I chose to lean fully into faith. I held on tightly to God and began seriously considering what had once felt like just a distant dream. And that dream? It was starting to feel more possible than ever before.
Through all of this, my parents were my rock. Their love, support, and encouragement gave me the push I needed. They reminded me that I was capable, worthy, and ready. I had saved every bit I could and prayed more times than I can count — honestly, I thought God might be getting a little tired of hearing from me! LOL But He never stopped listening.
With a whole lot of faith, the unwavering support of my family and friends, and the trust of the sweet fur clients I had already been grooming on the side… Schnazzy Grooming was born. What started as a whisper in my heart became a reality — a dream come true, built with love, faith, and the belief that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
